Character Creation Race & Class: - Choose from classic D&D races (Human, Elf, Dwarf, etc.) and classes (Fighter, Wizard, Rogue, etc.). - Some races and classes require unlocking (via favor or purchases). - New players should start with a simple class like Fighter or Ranger. Stats & Skills: - Follow recommended builds if you're new. - Strength (melee), Dexterity (archers/rogues), Intelligence (wizards), etc. Basic Gameplay Controls: - WASD for movement, mouse for camera and targeting. - Hotbar (1-0) for abilities/spells. Quests & Dungeons: - Most gameplay is instance-based (solo or group). - Talk to NPCs in towns (like Stormreach or Eveningstar) to get quests. - Enter dungeons via quest-givers or the Adventure Compendium (Ctrl+J). Combat: - Real-time with auto-attack and active abilities. - Use tactics (flanking, dodging traps, spell combos). Progression & Loot Leveling Up: - Earn XP by completing quests and killing monsters. - At level-ups, you gain new abilities, spells, or feats. Loot & Gear: - Enemies drop weapons, armor, and gold. - Named items (unique gear) come from quest rewards. Reincarnation: - At max level (20+), you can reincarnate to restart with bonuses. Multiplayer & Groups Grouping Up: - Use the LFM (Looking For More) tool to join parties. - Some dungeons are easier with a balanced group (tank, healer, DPS). Guilds: - Join a guild for bonuses and community support. Free vs. Premium Content Free Players: - Access to basic quests and classes. - Can unlock more by earning Favor (completing quests for factions). Premium/Subscribers: - VIP gets access to all content (except expansions). - Expansions (like Ravenloft or Sharn) must be bought separately. Tips for Beginners Start in Korthos: - The tutorial island teaches basics. Learn Traps: - Rogues can disarm traps; others should avoid them. The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
