In Dungeons & Dragons Online (DDO), hirelings are AI-controlled companions that players can summon to assist them in quests. They can provide healing, tanking, DPS, or utility support, making them especially useful for solo players or small groups. Heres what you need to know about hirelings in DDO: How to Get Hirelings Purchase from the DDO Store - Most hirelings are bought with DDO Points (premium currency) or Astral Shards. - Some are available for Turbine Points (older system, mostly phased out). - Occasionally, hirelings are given as rewards (e.g., from events or promotions). Free Temporary Hirelings - Some quests provide temporary hirelings (e.g., healers in early quests like Korthos Island). - Guild airships may offer hirelings for rent. Premium & Expansion Packs - Some expansions (e.g., Menace of the Underdark) include hirelings as part of the package. Types of Hirelings Hirelings come in different roles, typically based on D&D classes: Role Examples Best For Healer Cleric, Favored Soul, Druid Keeping the party alive Tank Fighter, Paladin, Barbarian Drawing enemy aggro DPS Rogue, Wizard, Sorcerer, Ranger Dealing damage Utility Bard (buffs), Artificer (traps) Support & crowd control Some hirelings have special abilities, such as: Resurrection (high-level clerics) Trap Disarming (rogues/artificers) Summoning Pets (wizards/druids) How to Use Hirelings Summoning - Open your Inventory (default: B key). - Go to the Hirelings tab. - Click on a hireling to summon them (consumes a charge if limited-use). Commands - Follow/Stay (default hotkey: F1-F12). - Attack (right-click enemy or use hotkeys). - Use Abilities (some cast spells automatically, others require manual input). Duration - Most hirelings last until dismissed, killed, or the quest ends. - Some have a time limit (e.g., 30 minutes). Limitations & Tips AI Behavior: Hirelings can be unpredictable (e.g., running into traps, poor positioning). Limited Charges: Some hirelings have a set number of uses before needing repurchase. No Loot: Hirelings dont collect loot or share XP penalties. Best Uses: - Solo play (especially for squishy characters). - Filling party gaps (e.g., no healer in group). - Hard dungeons where extra support helps. Notable Hirelings Lydia (Cleric) Strong healer, great for beginners. Marissa (Favored Soul) High-level healing & buffs. Vor (Fighter) Solid tank for melee support. Ezra (Wizard) Good for crowd control & AoE damage. Would you like recommendations for a specific class or playstyle?

The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
