dramashorts scenes
Since "DramaShorts" can refer to short, intense, dramatic scenes often used for acting practice, commercial auditions, or social media content, here are 5 original, self-contained scenes with a theatrical slant. They are designed to be high-stakes, emotionally charged, and finished in 25 minutes. The Last Interview Genre: Corporate / Tragic Characters: REBECCA (40s, HR Manager), JOSH (20s, Nervous Graduate) Setting: A cold, empty conference room. Rebecca has a single file folder. Context: Josh is interviewing for his late father's job. Rebecca knows the job was eliminated an hour ago, but the CEO made her do this anyway. (Josh sits. Rebecca stares at the folder. She doesnt open it.) REBECCA: Your father... he always had a joke for the break room. Even when the coffee machine broke. Especially then. JOSH: (nervous smile) He was trying to make you laugh. He said your resting face could curdle milk. Sorrywas that too much? REBECCA: It's not too much. (Beat) Tell me about your strengths. JOSH: I'm a quick learner. I know his numbers inside and out. I can pick up exactly where he left off. REBECCA: (closing the folder) No. You cant. (She stands, walks to the window.) They cut the department, Josh. Twenty minutes before you walked in. I wasnt supposed to tell you until after the fake pleasantries. But I cant listen to you sell yourself for something that doesnt exist. JOSH: Why? Why do this to him? REBECCA: (turning, voice cracking) Because I am a coward. And because if I walked out of this room without saying his name one more time, I think Id forget how to speak. (Long, heavy silence.) REBECCA: (softly) He was the best of us. And you sound just like him. (She leaves. Josh sits, alone, staring at the empty chair across from him.) The Trophy Wifes Speech Genre: Monologue / Social Satire Character: CHLOE (30s, perfectly dressed, holding a champagne flute) Setting: A massive, empty walk-in closet. Clothes are everywhere. Context: Her husbands political scandal has just broken. She is packing to leave for good. (She picks up a fur coat, holds it up.) CHLOE: I was the "trophy." Do you know what that means? It means I had to be shiny. Quiet. Easy to display. I had to make him look generous. "Look at my beautiful wife," he'd say, "isn't she lucky?" (She drops the coat on the floor.) I was the charity case. (She grabs a string of pearls.) CHLOE: These were for the breakfast with the donors. He told me to smile until my cheeks bled. I smiled through the affair. I smiled through the bankruptcy rumors. I smiled when his mistress called the house and I answered. (She snaps the necklace. Pearls scatter like teeth.) CHLOE: But here is the secret the papers will never print. I was his alibi. The pretty face in the back of the photo. The perfect wife. And now I am going to be the star witness. (She picks up a single pearl.) They think I'm a victim? No, baby. I was just waiting for the payout. (She drops the pearl into her purse. Exits.) The Bridge Genre: Romantic / Tragic (Gay) Characters: SAM (20s, practical, holding a car key), ALEX (20s, emotional, looking over a railing) Setting: A pedestrian bridge over a busy highway at night. City lights below. Context: Its their last night together before Alex moves to Paris for a job Sam cannot follow. SAM: Youre going to miss the flight. ALEX: I know. SAM: Is there something you want me to say? ALEX: (turning) I want you to tell me that this is a mistake. I want you to tell me that love is more important than a stupid job. I want you to fight for me! SAM: (frustrated) I am fighting! Im fighting the urge to grab your hand and never let go. But what happens when you hate me in six months because you gave up your dream for a parking lot in Ohio? Huh? ALEX: I would never hate you. SAM: (stepping closer) Then stay. Say it. Say "I stay." ALEX: (mouth opens, closes) ... SAM: (nods, broken) Thats what I thought. (Alex grabs Sams face and kisses him hard, desperately. They pull apart, foreheads together.) ALEX: Ill send a postcard. SAM: (whisper) Make it a long one. (Alex walks away. Sam stands alone, the traffic roaring below like applause.) The Heist (Aftermath) Genre: Crime / Thriller (Dualogue) Characters: MARCO (40s, Cool, holding a gun), JADE (30s, Anxious, holding a duffel bag) Setting: A dark, leaky warehouse. Sound of dripping water. Context: The bank job went wrong. A guard is dead. They have the money but the cops are five minutes out. MARCO: We split. You take the tunnel. JADE: The tunnel is flooded. Ill drown, Marco. MARCO: Then you float. Ill take the car. JADE: The car has a tracker. We talked about this! We use the van! The van! MARCO: (points gun at her, calmly) The van is what they expect. Im giving you the bag. JADE: (stunned) Youre giving me the bag? You think this is a reward? You think I want your dirty money? MARCO: I think you want to live. Take the tunnel. Or give me the bag and you walk away poor. (Jade looks at the bag. Looks at the tunnel. Looks at him.) JADE: You shot the guard. Why? MARCO: (cold) He saw my face. JADE: (realization) No. He saw my face. You shot him for me. (Marco says nothing. The sirens get louder.) MARCO: Go. Ill hold them. (He turns his back to her, facing the door. Jade clutches the bag. She doesnt move.) JADE: (crying) Ill never say your name again. MARCO: Good. Now run. (She runs. He puts his finger on the trigger. Lights out.) The Dinner Party (The Reveal) Genre: Suspense / Drama Characters: ANNA (30s, Hostess, calm), LEO (40s, Guest, sweating) Setting: A modern dining room. Table is set. Candles flicker. Context: Anna has been following her husbands secret email trail for months. She knows Leo is his lover. Leo does not know she knows. ANNA: You like the chicken, Leo? LEO: (stiff) Its excellent, Anna. Youre a wonderful cook. ANNA: My husband always says Im good with details. The timing. The temperature. The... ingredients. (She pours more wine.) How did you and my husband meet? LEO: (coughs) Work. Finance. ANNA: Funny. He told me he met you at a gym. (She smiles, doesn't blink.) Which is it, Leo? The office that ends at 5, or the gym that opens at 9 PM? (Leo freezes, his fork halfway to his mouth.) LEO: Anna ANNA: (cuts him off, sharp) I know. I know about the hotel in Chicago. I know about the summer house. I know about the "business trips." (She puts her fork down.) There isnt any arsenic in your chicken, Leo. Im not that kind of woman. LEO: (fear) Then what is this? ANNA: (leans back) This is me telling you that you can have him. Because I already divorced him this afternoon. You didnt get the email? The Wi-Fi here is terrible. (She smiles.) Enjoy your meal. (She stands. Leaves him alone with the silent, perfectly set table.)

Venture into the depths of Azeroth itself in this groundbreaking expansion. Face new threats emerging from the planet's core, explore mysterious underground realms, and uncover secrets that will reshape your understanding of the Warcraft universe forever.
The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
