dramashorts 10
Heres a collection of original 10-minute drama shorts (micro-plays or scenes) designed to be performed in about 10 minutes or less. Each has a strong conflict, a clear arc, and a punchy ending. The Last Tape Genre: Psychological Drama Cast: 2 (1F, 1M) Setting: A cluttered attic, 1995. Logline: A woman finds a cassette tape her late husband recorded the night before he died. He left it for her, but she was too afraid to listen for 10 years. Tonight, she finally presses play. Scenario: MARA (40s) sits holding a small boombox and a dusty cassette. Her SON, LEO (20s) watches from the doorway. Leo: Youre actually going to do it? Mara: I need to hear his voice. One last time. Leo: What if its bad? What if he tells you something you dont want to hear? Mara: It cant be worse than what Ive imagined. She presses play. We hear HENRYs voice (V.O.) calm, tired. Henry (V.O.): Mara. If youre hearing this, Im gone. I need you to know something. It wasnt cancer that killed me. It was the shame of being in love with someone else. Maras face drains of color. Leo freezes. Henry (V.O.): I didnt have the courage to tell you. But I owe you the truth. There was another man. For three years. Im sorry I was a coward. The tape clicks off. Silence. Leo slowly sits down next to her. Mara (whispering): I knew. I knew and I never said a word because I didnt want to give the truth permission to exist. End. (Blackout.) Exit Interview Genre: Dark Comedy / Drama Cast: 2 (1F, 1M) Setting: A sterile HR office. Logline: At her own exit interview, a woman tells her boss exactly why shes leaving. The problem is, the real reason is buried under 10 layers of corporate politeness. Scenario: JANET (30s) sits across from BRAD (50s), holding a folder. Brad: So, Janet. Were sorry to see you go. Is there anything we could have done differently? Janet: No, Brad. Its just a better opportunity. Brad: Are you sure? We value honest feedback. Pause. Janet: Okay. Honestly? The coffee machine has been broken for eight months. You sold the companys soul for a quarterly bonus. And last year, you told me my energy was too bright for the meeting room. Brad (laughing nervously): Oh, I was joking. Janet: You werent. And I have 47 emails to prove it. She slides the folder across the table. Janet: There. Honest feedback. You said you wanted it. Brad: You kept receipts? Janet (standing): I kept everything. Goodbye, Brad. She exits. Brad stares at the folder. End. (Blackout.) The Dinner Party Genre: Tense Family Drama Cast: 3 (2F, 1M) Setting: A nicely set dining table, 9:00 PM. Logline: A couple hosts a friend for dinner. Halfway through, the friend reveals she is having an affair with the husband. The wife already knows. Scenario: LUCY pours wine for CLAIRE and TOM. Laughing. Claire: Tom, this risotto is perfect. Youre a keeper. Tom: Lucy taught me everything. Lucy (smiling): Almost everything. Awkward pause. Claire: Actually, I have news. Im in love. Tom chokes on his wine. Lucy doesnt flinch. Lucy: Oh? Whos the lucky guy? Claire (looking at Tom): Hes sitting at this table. Long silence. Tom sets down his glass. Tom: Claire, dont. Lucy: No, please. Continue. Ive been waiting for this moment. Claires smile fades. Claire: You knew? Lucy: I found the hotel receipt in his jacket three months ago. Ive been planning this dinner ever since. Tom: Lucy, I can explain Lucy: You dont need to. The risotto is poisoned. But dont worryits not lethal. Just enough to make you both very, very sick for the next 24 hours. Think of it as a detox. She stands, grabs her coat. Lucy: Enjoy the meal. Im going to the lawyers office tomorrow. And yes, I have copies of everything. She exits. Tom and Claire stare at each other, then at the risotto. End. (Blackout.) The Cleanse Genre: Drama / Mystery Cast: 2 (any gender) Setting: A minimalist white room. Logline: Two strangers meet at a silent retreat. They are not allowed to speak for 7 days. But on day 3, one of them breaks the rules to whisper a confession that changes everything. Scenario: JORDAN and SAM sit cross-legged on yoga mats. For a full minute, silence. Then Sam whispers. Sam: Im not here for peace. Im hiding. Jordan opens eyes but doesnt move. Jordan (whispering): From who? Sam: From myself. I did something terrible. Jordan: We all have secrets. Sam: Not like this. I hurt someone. Deliberately. Im here because I thought if I was quiet long enough, Id forget what I did. But its louder in the silence. Jordan stands slowly. Jordan: Then stop hiding. The silence wont fix you. Facing it might. Sam (tearing up): What if facing it destroys me? Jordan: Then you get to rebuild. But at least youll have a foundation. They stare at each other. For the first time in days, Sam breathes. End. (Slow fade.) The Last Goodbye Genre: Emotional Drama Cast: 2 (1 elderly, 1 young adult) Setting: A hospital room, late night. Logline: A young woman says goodbye to her grandmother. The grandmother, slipping in and out of consciousness, mistakes her for her own long-lost sister. The young woman has a choice: correct her, or let her have one last moment with the person she missed for 60 years. Scenario: MAYA (20s) holds NANAs hand. Nanas eyes flutter open. Nana: Ruth? Is that you? Maya (softly): Yes, Nana. Its me. Nana: I knew youd come. I waited so long. Im sorry I was angry. Maya: Im sorry I left. Nana: Did you have a good life? Maya pauses. Her voice cracks. Maya: The best. But I missed you every day. Nana: I missed you too. Im tired, Ruth. Can I rest now? Maya: Yes. Rest. Ill be right here. Nana smiles. Her hand goes limp. Maya lets out a sob but keeps holding. A NURSE enters. Nurse: Shes gone. Im so sorry. Maya: She knew. At the end, she knew. Nurse: Knew what? Maya (crying): That she was loved. End. (Blackout.) Tips for Performing These: Keep it tight: 10 minutes means every line must serve the plot or character. Use silence: Pauses are powerful in drama. Let them breathe. End with impact: The last line or action should land like a punch. Would you like me to expand any of these into a full one-act play (3040 minutes)?

Venture into the depths of Azeroth itself in this groundbreaking expansion. Face new threats emerging from the planet's core, explore mysterious underground realms, and uncover secrets that will reshape your understanding of the Warcraft universe forever.
The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
