Fantasy MMORPG PvE Raids Guilds

Here is a detailed breakdown of what "Drama 15" means at UC Irvine (UCI). Since "15" is the course number, it refers to a specific lower-division course within the Drama major. The course is: DRAMA 15: Introduction to Acting This is the foundational acting class for all undergraduate students in the School of Drama. It is a required course for majors and is also a very popular elective for non-majors seeking to fulfill the university's Category IV (Arts and Humanities) GE requirement. Heres a comprehensive overview: The Official Course Description (from the UCI Catalogue) DRAMA 15. Introduction to Acting (4 Units) Prerequisites: Drama majors have priority enrollment. For Drama majors, this course should be taken concurrently with Drama 10. Introduction to the art and craft of acting. Emphasis on freeing the natural voice and body, developing sensory and emotional awareness, and cultivating concentration and stage presence through exercises in improvisation, relaxation, and scene work. Restriction: Drama Majors have first consideration for enrollment. No previous acting experience required. What You Will Actually Do in the Class This is a studio course, meaning it's all about doing, not just listening to lectures. You will be on your feet and performing almost every class session. The core components are: Improvisation: Exercises to build spontaneity, listening skills, and "yes, and..." thinking. Ensemble Building: Games and trust exercises to create a safe, collaborative environment. Sensory and Emotional Work: Exercises based on the work of acting theorist Stanislavski (and often derivative methods like Meisner or Adler) to connect personal experiences to the character. Voice and Movement: Basic work on projection, articulation, physical alignment, and freeing the instrument. Scene Work: The major assignment will usually be memorizing and performing a short scene (typically a contemporary 2-person scene) in front of the class. Monologue Work: Some sections may have one short, memorized monologue. The Journal: You will be required to keep a reflective journal documenting your process, challenges, and breakthroughs. The Different Types of Students You'll Find Drama Majors (B.A. or B.F.A.): They are required to take this and might be serious, competitive, or just starting like you. Other Arts Majors (Music, Dance, Art): They often take it to collaborate or explore a different medium. Non-Majors for General Education (GE): Students from Computer Science, Business, Bio, etc., who want a "fun" GE or to improve their public speaking. Students exploring a potential minor: UCI offers a minor in Drama, and this is the entry point. Why it's Valuable (Beyond the Degree) Even if you don't want to be a professional actor, Drama 15 teaches transferable skills that are highly valued in any career: Public Speaking & Confidence: The single biggest benefit. You will learn to stand in front of people and be present. Emotional Intelligence: You learn to read others, listen actively, and respond authentically. Collaboration: You can't "do a scene" by yourself. You learn to trust and rely on a partner. Risk-Taking in a Safe Environment: The class is designed to fail safely. You learn that mistakes are part of the creative process. Who Usually Teaches It? Lecturers: A mix of professional working actors from the Los Angeles/Orange County area and Ph.D. candidates or recent graduates in Drama. Occasionally a Full Professor: Rarely taught by the tenured faculty, who focus on upper-division and graduate level courses. Key Tips for Success Show Up: Attendance is mandatory. This is a studio course. Missing a class is like missing a rehearsal for a showit destroys the ensemble's progress. Do the Work: Actually do the journal entries, memorize your lines early, and commit 100% to every exercise, even the "silly" ones. Be Brave: The most common fear is embarrassment. Everyone is scared. The students who succeed are the ones who get up, mess up, and keep trying. Be Kind: Drama 15 requires trust. Be a supportive audience member for your classmates. Don't laugh at others' mistakes (unless it's intentional comedy). Don't Overthink It: The professor is looking for effort, growth, and a willingness to playnot a perfect performance. How to Enroll Drama Majors: You get priority. Enroll during your designated window. You must take it concurrently with Drama 10 (Introduction to the Theatre). Non-Majors: It's very popular and fills up fast. Have backup GE courses ready. Waitlists are common. In short: DRAMA 15 is the "scared but excited" starting point. It's a performance-based class that teaches the foundations of acting through play, improvisation, and scene work. It's a rigorous but rewarding experience for everyone who commits to the process. If you have a specific fear (e.g., "What if I'm shy?"), let me know and I can elaborate further.

Great raids, some bugs

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
