Major balance changes to all classes, new dungeon difficulty, and holiday events are now available. Check out the full patch notes for details.
Destiny 2 is built on Bungie's proprietary game engine, often referred to as the "Tiger Engine"an evolution of the engine used in the original Destiny (2014). Heres what you need to know about it: Key Features of the Destiny 2 Engine: Hybrid Architecture - Combines first-person shooter mechanics with MMO-like systems (persistent worlds, raids, social spaces). - Supports 60 FPS on next-gen consoles (PS5/Xbox Series XS) and high-end PCs. Content Pipeline (Tiger) - Designed for live-service games, allowing frequent updates (seasons, expansions). - Uses a "content vault" system (rotating old content in/out due to engine constraints). Physics & AI - Uses Havok Physics for movement, collisions, and environmental interactions. - AI behaviors are scripted but adapt to player actions (e.g., enemy tactics in raids). Networking - Peer-to-peer (P2P) hybrid model with some dedicated servers for certain activities. - Known for occasional latency issues (e.g., "melee registration" problems in PvP). Graphics & Rendering - Deferred rendering for dynamic lighting (e.g., The Witness's sun effects in The Final Shape). - Supports HDR, ray tracing (on PC), and high-resolution textures. Modding & Tools - No official mod support due to always-online requirements. - Bungies internal tools (like "Goby" for level design) are highly specialized. Limitations & Criticisms "Content Vault" (DCV): Due to engine constraints, older content (e.g., Forsaken campaign) is removed to manage file size and performance. P2P Networking: Leads to inconsistencies in competitive modes (Crucible). Slow Iteration: Bungie has mentioned engine complexity makes updates time-consuming (e.g., adding new weapon perks takes months). Comparisons to Other Engines Unreal Engine 5: More flexible for open-world games but lacks Destinys tailored live-service tools. Unity/Godot: Not built for AAA-scale FPS-MMO hybrids like Destiny. Future of the Engine Bungie continues to optimize it (e.g., Lightfalls improved lighting). Rumors suggest Marathon (Bungies next game) may use an upgraded version. Would you like details on a specific aspect (e.g., networking, rendering)?

The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
