Fantasy MMORPG PvE Raids Guilds

Both Black Desert Online (BDO) and Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) are popular MMORPGs, but they cater to very different player preferences. Heres a breakdown to help you decide: Gameplay & Combat BDO: - Action Combat: Fast-paced, combo-based, and skill-shot-oriented (no tab-targeting). - Sandbox Focus: Heavy emphasis on open-world grinding, lifeskills (fishing, trading, crafting), and PvP (node wars, open-world PK). - Gear Progression: Gear matters significantlygrind-heavy with RNG enhancement systems. FFXIV: - Tab-Target Combat: Slower, rotation-based with a global cooldown (GCD), but deep job mechanics in raids. - Theme Park Design: Story-driven, structured dungeons, trials, and raids (PvE-focused). - Horizontal Progression: Gear upgrades are predictable, with less emphasis on grinding for power. Story & World BDO: - Minimal story focus; lore exists but isnt the main draw. - Beautiful open world with dynamic weather and seamless exploration. FFXIV: - Narrative-Driven: Expansions (Heavensward, Shadowbringers, Endwalker) are critically acclaimed. - Instanced zones with loading screens, but rich world-building and memorable characters. PvP vs. PvE BDO: - PvP-Centric: Guild wars, node/siege battles, and open-world PK (if you enable it). - Limited structured PvE content (no traditional dungeons/raids). FFXIV: - PvE-Focused: Dungeons, trials, savage raids, and ultimates (high-end challenges). - PvP exists but is secondary (Crystalline Conflict, Frontline). Monetization BDO: - Buy-to-play (often on sale) but heavily monetized with convenience items (pets, inventory, costumes). - Pay-to-progress-faster (optional but impactful). FFXIV: - Subscription-based (free trial up to Lv. 70 with restrictions). - Cosmetic cash shop, but no pay-to-win elements. Community & Social BDO: - Competitive/guild-focused; less emphasis on social bonding. - Solo-friendly for lifeskilling. FFXIV: - Very socialemphasis on dungeons, FCs (guilds), and RP communities. - Party finder/PUG-friendly for raids. Which One Should You Play? Play BDO if you: - Love action combat and open-world PvP. - Enjoy grinding, lifeskills, and sandbox freedom. - Dont mind heavy monetization or RNG gear upgrades. Play FFXIV if you: - Prefer story-driven, structured PvE content. - Like tab-target combat and deep job rotations. - Want a more casual-friendly, social MMO with less pay-to-win. Final Verdict For PvP/Grinding/Sandbox: Black Desert Online For Story/Raids/Social Play: Final Fantasy XIV If youre unsure, FFXIVs free trial lets you play a huge chunk of the game for free, while BDO often goes on sale for cheap. Try both if you can!

Great raids, some bugs

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
