Bethesda and The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) are closely related, but they're not the same entity. Here's a breakdown of their connection: Bethesda Softworks & ZeniMax Media - Bethesda Softworks is the publisher of The Elder Scrolls single-player games (e.g., Skyrim, Oblivion). - ZeniMax Media is Bethesdas parent company, which owns multiple studios, including Bethesda Game Studios (developers of Skyrim, Fallout) and ZeniMax Online Studios (developers of ESO). The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) - Developed by ZeniMax Online Studios, not Bethesda Game Studios. - Published by Bethesda Softworks (like other Elder Scrolls games). - Set in the same universe (Tamriel) but is an MMORPG, unlike the single-player Elder Scrolls games. - Released in 2014, with regular expansions (Morrowind, Summerset, Elsweyr, Blackwood, High Isle, Necrom). Microsofts Acquisition (2021) - Microsoft bought ZeniMax Media, meaning both Bethesda and ZeniMax Online are now under Xbox Game Studios. - ESO continues to operate independently but benefits from Xbox integration (Game Pass, etc.). Differences Between ESO & Mainline TES Games - Gameplay: ESO is an MMO with classes, raids, and group content, while mainline games are single-player RPGs. - Lore: Both share the same world, but ESO is set 1,000 years before Skyrim. - Monetization: ESO has optional subscriptions, microtransactions (cosmetics), and buy-to-play expansions. Future of ESO & Bethesda - ESO is still actively updated (2024's Gold Road expansion announced). - Bethesda Game Studios is working on The Elder Scrolls VI, but its likely years away (after Starfield DLC). TL;DR ESO is an MMO made by ZeniMax Online, published by Bethesda. Bethesda Game Studios makes the single-player Elder Scrolls games. Both are under Microsoft/Xbox now but operate separately. Would you like details on ESO gameplay, expansions, or how it connects to Skyrim/Oblivion lore?

Venture into the depths of Azeroth itself in this groundbreaking expansion. Face new threats emerging from the planet's core, explore mysterious underground realms, and uncover secrets that will reshape your understanding of the Warcraft universe forever.
The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
