best gaming laptop 2025
Predicting the absolute "best" for 2025 is tricky, as models are refreshed annually (usually January/February for new CPUs/GPUs). However, based on upcoming hardware releases (Intel Arrow Lake, AMD Ryzen 9000X3D, Nvidia RTX 5000 series) and current trends, here is the projected hierarchy for the best gaming laptops of 2025. The Shortlist: Top Contenders for 2025 The Overall King: ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 (2025 Refresh) Why it will win: The 2024 G16 was a massive shift (thin, all-aluminum, OLED). For 2025, it will likely pair an Intel Arrow Lake-HX CPU with an Nvidia RTX 5090/5080. The "X-Factor": The 16:10, 240Hz OLED screen is industry-leading. Its the only laptop that feels premium enough to use in a meeting but games like a desktop. Best for: The gamer who wants zero compromises on build quality, screen, and performance, but doesn't want a "gamer" aesthetic. The Raw Performance Monster: Lenovo Legion Pro 7i (Gen 10) Why it will win: The Legion series consistently has the best thermal performance and raw FPS out of the box. Expect the full-power RTX 5090 (175W) and a high-TDP Intel Core i9-14900HX (or Arrow Lake equivalent). The "X-Factor": The "ColdFront" cooling system. Lenovo's Vapor Chamber cooling is usually 5-10% better than competitors at dissipating heat from high-power chips. Best for: Pure performance. If you want the highest frame rates in Call of Duty, Cyberpunk, or Star Citizen, this is the machine. The AMD Powerhouse: Alienware m18 R2 (with Ryzen 8040/9000) Why it will win: Alienware often gets exclusive "Dragon Range" AMD CPUs for a period. For 2025, this could be a Ryzen 9 8945HX or a new Strix Point Halo chip. Combined with an RTX 5090, this is a desktop replacement. The "X-Factor": The 18-inch screen. Its massive. The 4K 120Hz or 2K 165Hz screens on the m18 are brilliant. If you want the biggest laptop screen possible without going to an external monitor, this is it. Best for: The desktop replacement gamer who wants maximum screen real estate and raw AMD CPU power. The Best Value/Price-to-Performance: ASUS TUF Gaming A16 (2025) Why it will win: The TUF series is the "sweet spot." It won't have an OLED or all-aluminum chassis, but it will have AMD Ryzen 9 + Radeon RX 8000 series (or RTX 5060/5070) at a much lower price. The "X-Factor": Battery life. AMD + Radeon (or AMD + Nvidia) in a TUF chassis often gets 8-10 hours of video playback. It's also built like a tank (MIL-STD-810H). Best for: The budget-conscious gamer who wants 1440p 60-120 FPS without breaking the bank. The "Portable Power" Wildcard: Razer Blade 16 (2025) Why it will win: Razer is the "MacBook of gaming." The 2025 model will likely adopt the new Mini-LED or Dual-Mode OLED screen (UHD+ 120Hz / FHD+ 240Hz). The "X-Factor": Build quality. Its a unibody aluminum chassis that is thinner and lighter than the Zephyrus, but it runs hotter. Its the only gaming laptop that doesnt look like one. Best for: The professional who travels and needs a discreet, premium device that can handle 4K gaming at home. What to Expect in 2025 (The Key Upgrades) GPUs: Nvidia RTX 5000 series (Blackwell architecture). Expect massive improvements in Ray Tracing (Path Tracing) efficiency. AMD will counter with Radeon RX 8000 series (RDNA 4), focusing on mid-range ray tracing performance. DO NOT buy a 2024 laptop just for the GPU; the 5000 series will be a huge leap in efficiency. CPUs: Intel Arrow Lake (better efficiency, less heat) vs. AMD Ryzen 9000X3D (3D V-Cache for massive gaming FPS gains). For pure gaming, AMD's 3D V-Cache chips (e.g., 7945HX3D successor) will likely be the best. AI (NPU): All mid-to-high-end laptops in 2025 will have a dedicated NPU (Neural Processing Unit). This will be used for Windows AI features (Copilot), DLSS Super Resolution, and frame generation offloading. This will improve battery life during non-gaming tasks. RAM & Storage: DDR5 6400MHz will become standard. SSDs will move to PCIe 5.0 (Gen5) for insane load times (10+ GB/s). Make sure you buy a laptop with Gen5 SSD support. The Verdict for 2025 If you buy ONE laptop in 2025: For 95% of people: ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 (2025) . It's the perfect blend of portability, screen quality, and performance. If you only care about FPS: Lenovo Legion Pro 7i (2025) . If you want the biggest screen: Alienware m18 R2 (2025) . Important Note: Avoid buying a high-end gaming laptop right now (late 2024). The RTX 5000 series and new CPUs are just months away. The biggest improvements will be in battery life (due to Nvidia's new efficiency) and Ray Tracing performance. Wait for reviews in January/February 2025.

The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
