Of course! Choosing the "best" Death pet in Wizard101 depends heavily on your wizard's level, playstyle, and goals. Heres a breakdown of the top contenders, categorized by their primary purpose. Overall Best & Most Versatile: The Ghulture The Ghulture (from the Death Ghulture or any Ghulture with a Death-Dealer talent) is widely considered the best all-around Death pet. Why it's great: It provides the essential Death-Dealer (Death Damage +%) talent and the incredibly powerful Pain-Giver (Universal Damage +%) talent. This gives a massive boost to your offensive power. Key Talents: Death-Dealer, Pain-Giver, Death-Giver, Spell-Proof, Spell-Defying. Best For: Any Death wizard from level 50 through endgame who wants to maximize their damage output while maintaining solid survivability. It's the standard "meta" pet. Best for Survival & Solo Play: The Avenging Fossil The Avenging Fossil is a legendary choice for Death wizards who prioritize being unkillable, especially while soloing. Why it's great: Its unique Fossil Avenger card is a powerful 4-pip AoE that also gives you a +50% Deathblade. This allows for incredible, self-sufficient combos. Key Talents: Spell-Proof, Spell-Defying, Death-Dealer, Pain-Giver, plus a utility talent like May Cast Heal or Death-Giver. Best For: Solo players and those who love setting up big, self-contained hits. It makes the solo journey incredibly smooth. Best for Max Damage & Critical: The Death Hamster For wizards focused purely on dealing the highest possible damage and achieving high critical, the Death Hamster (or the Death Gobblerball with the same traits) is the top choice. Why it's great: It offers the highest potential critical rating for Death spells via the Death-Assailant talent. When combined with damage talents, it makes your hits consistently fierce. Key Talents: Death-Dealer, Pain-Giver, Death-Giver, Death-Assailant, Death-Boon (or a resist talent). Best For: Max-level wizards doing team content (like raids or dungeons) where a dedicated hitter needs to push their numbers to the limit. Best for Support/Utility: The Wandering Eye A fantastic pet for Death wizards who enjoy a support or utility role, especially in team settings. Why it's great: It grants the invaluable Deathblade item card and the useful Feint item card. Stacking these with your trained spells provides huge utility for your team. Key Talents: Spell-Proof, Spell-Defying, then a mix of support (May Cast Heal/Blade) or damage talents. Best For: Support-oriented players and those who want to enhance their deck setup without spending card slots. Best for Leveling (Early-Mid Game): The Dark Crow An excellent and easily obtainable pet for wizards leveling up. Why it's great: It gives a 4-pip AoE spell (Dark Crow) very early on (available from the pet itself), which is a game-changer for farming and questing before you get your Scarecrow at level 48. Key Talents: Focus on damage (Death-Dealer, Pain-Giver) and resist (Spell-Proof) as you hatch towards a perfect version. Best For: Any Death wizard between levels 30 and 48. It solves Death's biggest early-game weakness: the lack of a good AoE. The "Ideal" Talent Build for Most Death Wizards Regardless of the pet body, most players aim for a similar set of talents: Death-Dealer (Essential - +% Death Damage) Pain-Giver (Essential - +% Universal Damage) Spell-Proof (Essential - +10% Universal Resist) Spell-Defying (Highly Recommended - +5% Universal Resist) Death-Giver (More Damage) OR Mighty (Boosts the stats of other talents) How to Get These Pets: Hatching: The most reliable method. Use the Pet Kiosk in the Pet Pavilion to hatch with a pet that has the talents you want. You don't need to own the pet body firstyou can hatch with one from the kiosk until you get the egg you want. Farming: Some (like the Ghulture) drop from specific bosses (e.g., Lambent Fire in the Wild). Bundles/Promos: Others (like the Hamster) have been part of special bundles or events. Final Recommendation: For a first-time Death wizard: Start by hatching for a Dark Crow to cruise to level 48, then hatch for a Ghulture or Avenging Fossil for the endgame. For a max-level wizard: Build both a Ghulture for general use and a Death Hamster for when you need to be the primary hitter. Pro Tip: Always use the Pet Kiosk to find pets with the perfect talents (like "Quad Damage Proof" or "Triple Double") to hatch with. The body matters less than the talents, as you can transfer talents through generations. Good luck, and happy hatching

Great raids, some bugs

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
