Finding the "best" gaming laptop at Best Buy depends heavily on your budget and what resolution/performance you're targeting. Best Buy's advantage is that you can often see these in person, and they frequently run sales on open-box or exclusive models. Here is a breakdown of the best gaming laptops you can buy at Best Buy right now, categorized by price and performance tier. The King of Value & Performance (Best Overall) ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 (2024 Model) Why it's #1: This is widely considered the best all-around gaming laptop. It's thin, light, has an incredible build quality (aluminum chassis), and a fantastic screen. Key Specs: Intel Core Ultra 9 / AMD Ryzen AI 9, RTX 4070, 16-32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 16" 2.5K OLED 240Hz display. Best Buy Specific: Best Buy often carries the "GA605" or "GU605" models which are exclusive or very well-priced. Perfect for: Someone who wants a laptop for gaming, college, and professional work. It's not over-the-top "gamer" looking. Price: Typically 1,600 - 2,000 (look for sales around 1,500). The Budget Champion (Under 1,000) Lenovo LOQ 15.6" Why it's #1 for budget: The Lenovo LOQ series has effectively replaced the budget Legion models. It offers full-powered CPUs and GPUs without the stupidly high price tag. Key Specs: Intel Core i5-13450HX or i7-13620H, RTX 3050 or RTX 4050, 8-16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, 144Hz display. Best Buy Specific: Best Buy frequently has the RTX 4050 model on sale for under 800. This is the best bang-for-your-buck deal in the store. Perfect for: Fortnite, Valorant, Minecraft, GTA V, and esports titles at high settings. Entry-level AAA gaming. Price: 750 - 1,000 The Raw Powerhouse (High-End) MSI Raider GE78 HX Why it's #1 for power: If you want the absolute fastest gaming laptop Best Buy sells (outside of specialty units), this is it. It has a desktop-class CPU and the most aggressive cooling. Key Specs: Intel Core i9-14900HX, RTX 4080 or 4090, 32-64GB RAM, 2TB SSD, 17" 240Hz QHD display. Best Buy Specific: The "HX" suffix is key. This is the unlocked, overclockable CPU. Best Buy also stocks the "Titan" model, but it's insanely expensive. Perfect for: 4K gaming, VR, video editing, streaming while gaming, and not caring about battery life. Price: 2,500 - 3,500+ The Gigantic Screen (Desktop Replacement) Alienware m18 Why it's #1 for size: Dell's premium Alienware brand. The m18 is massive, heavy, and has a huge 18-inch display that makes gaming immersive. Key Specs: Intel Core i9-13980HX, RTX 4070 to 4090, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 18" 165Hz or 480Hz display. Best Buy Specific: Alienware is a brand that Best Buy pushes heavily, meaning open-box deals are common. It's also easy to get Geek Squad protection for them. Perfect for: People who keep their laptop plugged in at a desk and want the biggest screen possible without buying a monitor. Price: 1,800 - 3,000 The "Best Bang for the Buck" Upgrade Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 Why it's #1 for value: The Helios Neo offers the performance of a 2,000 laptop for 1,400. It's heavier and uglier than the ROG Zephyrus, but it has brute force. Key Specs: Intel Core i9-14900HX, RTX 4070, 16GB DDR5, 1TB SSD, 16" 2560x1600 240Hz screen. Best Buy Specific: This is almost always on sale at Best Buy. Look for the "Predator Helios Neo 16 PHN16-71" model. Perfect for: Gamers who want to max out settings in Cyberpunk, Starfield, or Call of Duty on a 1440p screen. Price: 1,300 - 1,600 (Often 1,399). What to AVOID at Best Buy When shopping at Best Buy, ignore these traps: Low RAM (8GB): Do not buy an 8GB gaming laptop in 2024. Minimum is 16GB. Windows alone eats 5-6GB. 8GB will cause stuttering in games. RTX 2050 or 3050 (Non-Ti): These cards are very weak. If you are on a budget, make sure it's an RTX 3050 Ti or (ideally) an RTX 4050. HP Victus with bad screens: The base model HP Victus often has a terrible 250-nit, 45% NTSC color gamut screen. It looks dim and washed out. Pay the extra 50 for the Lenovo LOQ. Gaming Laptops with "Intel UHD Graphics" as the only GPU: This sounds obvious, but some "sale" laptops play word games. Make sure it has a dedicated NVIDIA or AMD GPU. Final Recommendation based on your need: "I have 750 and want to play Fortnite": Lenovo LOQ (RTX 4050). "I want a premium laptop for college and gaming": ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 (OLED). "Budget no object, give me the absolute best": MSI Raider GE78 HX (RTX 4090). "I want the biggest screen possible": Alienware m18. "Best performance for 1,400": Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 (RTX 4070). Pro Tip: Best Buy does price matching. If you find a lower price on Amazon, Newegg, or B&H Photo for the exact same model number, show it to the cashier and they will match it. Also, check Open-Box itemsyou can often save 20-30% on a laptop that was returned because "it was too heavy."

Great raids, some bugs

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
