Here is a comprehensive guide to AI Tools for a Class 9 student, covering the syllabus, key tools you need to know about, and how they work. In most school curricula (like CBSE in India), Class 9 AI focuses on AI Project Cycle and Data Science rather than building complex models. The "tools" you will use are for understanding, data handling, and basic model creation. Core AI Concepts & Tools You Will Use (Not Code) Before using software, you need to understand the 3 types of AI tools based on their capabilities: Type of AI Tool What it does Class 9 Example : : : Reactive Machines Reacts to current input only; no memory of past. Chess AI (like Deep Blue) Limited Memory Uses past data to make decisions. Self-driving cars (observing past 5 seconds) Theory of Mind Understands human emotions (Future concept). Not yet fully implemented The Most Important Tool: The AI Project Cycle Tool (Framework) In Class 9, you don't use a "tool" to build AI. Instead, you follow a 5-step cycle using basic software. Step Tool / Method What You Do : : : 1. Problem Scoping Sticky Notes, Google Docs, Mind Maps Define the problem (e.g., "Reduce food waste in school"). 2. Data Acquisition Google Forms, Excel/CSV files, Web scraping basics Collect data (e.g., "How much food is wasted per day?"). 3. Data Exploration Google Sheets / MS Excel, Charts Visualize data using bar graphs, pie charts. 4. Modelling Pixel Pad (or similar block-based tool) Create a simple rule-based model (e.g., "If food > 5kg, send alert"). 5. Evaluation Confusion Matrix (manual) Check if the model works correctly (e.g., 80% accuracy). Specific AI Tools You Will Likely Use in Class 9 A. Data Handling Tools (Most Important) Google Sheets / Microsoft Excel: - Why? For Data Acquisition & Exploration. - Class 9 Task: Sort data, find mean/median, create scatter plots, remove blank rows. - Skill: Cleaning messy data (e.g., replace "N/A" with 0). Google Colab (Basic): - Why? To write very simple Python code for data. - Class 9 Task: Not required for coding, but you might see a pre-written script to load a CSV file. - Key Command (Just for understanding): print("Hello AI") B. Visualization & Design Tools Canva / Piktochart: - Why? To present your AI Project Cycle. - Class 9 Task: Create infographics showing the 5 steps of the AI project cycle or a poster on "AI Ethics". Jamboard (Google) or Miro: - Why? For collaborative brainstorming (Problem Scoping). C. Beginner AI Model Building Tools (No Code) Machine Learning for Kids (ml4kids.com) - Best Tool for Class 9. Teaches how to train a model with examples (e.g., train a model to distinguish between "Apple" and "Orange" using images or text). Teachable Machine (by Google) - What it does: You give the tool images, sounds, or poses, and it trains a simple AI model instantly. - Class 9 Use: Build a model that recognizes hand gestures for a "Rock, Paper, Scissors" game. Pix2Code (Visual Interface) - Converts a hand-drawn UI mockup into code (advanced, but a great example of AI in action). "AI Tools" for Real Life (Applications) Your syllabus will ask you to identify which AI tool is used behind the scenes in everyday apps: Real-World Tool AI Technology Behind It Class 9 Concept : : : Google Lens Computer Vision (Image Recognition) AI identifies objects in photos. Netflix / YouTube Recommendation System AI recommends videos based on history. Siri / Alexa Natural Language Processing (NLP) AI understands human speech. ChatGPT / Gemini Large Language Model (LLM) AI generates human-like text. Gmail (Smart Compose) Predictive Text AI predicts the next word you will type. Sample Class 9 Project Using AI Tools Project Title: "Smart Attendance System using Face Recognition" Tool Used: Teachable Machine + Google Sheets Step 1: Collect 5 photos of each classmate. Step 2: Upload to Teachable Machine Train a "Class A" vs "Unknown" model. Step 3: Test the model (it shows a percentage of confidence). Step 4: Manually log the results in a Google Form. Step 5: Analyze if the model was accurate (Evaluation). Important Terms for Exam Term Tool's Role : : Dataset The raw data (e.g., a CSV file). Algorithm The step-by-step logic (e.g., Decision Tree). Model The trained output of the tool. Inference Using the model to make a prediction. Summary for Class 9 You do not need to code in Class 9 AI. You need to use tools to understand the process. Focus on: Google Sheets (data), Google Forms (survey), and ml4kids.com or Teachable Machine (basic model building). Remember: The tool is just a means to understand the AI Project Cycle. Need help with a specific tool? Let me know which one you are stuck on (e.g., "How to make a chart in Google Sheets for my AI project?").

Great raids, some bugs

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
