When comparing the AMD Ryzen 9 9800X3D (expected future release) and the Ryzen 7 7800X3D for World of Warcraft (WoW), heres what you need to know: Key Factors for WoW Performance: 3D V-Cache Advantage Both CPUs feature AMDs 3D V-Cache, which significantly boosts performance in CPU-bound games like WoW. Clock Speeds & IPC WoW benefits from high single-core performance, so raw clock speeds and IPC matter. Core Count WoW is lightly threaded, so extra cores (like on the 9800X3D) wont help much. Power Efficiency The 7800X3D is already very efficient, and the 9800X3D may not offer a big leap here. Expected Comparison: Feature Ryzen 7 7800X3D Ryzen 9 9800X3D (Expected) Cores/Threads 8C/16T Likely 12C/24T or 16C/32T Boost Clock Up to 5.0 GHz Potentially higher (5.2 GHz?) 3D V-Cache 96MB L3 Likely 96MB+ L3 TDP 120W Possibly higher (150W?) Price 350-400 Likely 450-600 Performance in WoW: The 7800X3D is already one of the best CPUs for WoW, delivering high FPS (especially in raids and crowded areas) due to its large cache and strong single-core performance. The 9800X3D might offer 5-10% better performance in WoW if clock speeds improve, but diminishing returns apply since WoW doesnt scale well beyond 8 cores. Cost vs. Benefit Unless you need the extra cores for productivity, the 7800X3D is the smarter choice for pure gaming. Verdict: Stick with the 7800X3D if you only care about WoWits cheaper and nearly as fast. Consider the 9800X3D only if: - You do heavy multitasking (streaming, content creation). - Future games better utilize more cores. - The price difference is justified (100+ more for minor WoW gains isnt worth it). Would you like a comparison with Intel alternatives (like the 14900K) as well?

Great raids, some bugs

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
