Fantasy MMORPG PvE Raids Guilds

This is a classic framework for analyzing dramatic literature and performance. While different scholars and traditions have slightly different lists (some have 5 elements, some 10), the most widely recognized 7 elements of drama originated from Aristotle's Poetics and are foundational to Western theatre. Here are the 7 elements, ranked in the order of importance that Aristotle assigned them: Plot (The Structure) This is what happens in the play. It is the sequence of events that make up the story, including the conflict. Aristotle believed this was the most important element. Key components: - Exposition: Introduction of characters, setting, and background. - Inciting Incident: The event that sets the main conflict in motion. - Rising Action: A series of events that build tension and lead to the climax. - Climax: The turning point or moment of highest tension. - Falling Action: The events that follow the climax, leading to resolution. - Denouement/Resolution: The conclusion of the story. Character (The People) These are the individuals (or sometimes personified forces) who inhabit the story and drive the plot. Key types: - Protagonist: The main character or hero. - Antagonist: The character or force that opposes the protagonist. - Confidant: A character the protagonist confides in (e.g., Horatio to Hamlet). - Foil: A character whose traits contrast with and highlight the traits of another character. Characters are revealed through their dialogue, actions, and what others say about them. Thought (The Theme) This is the central idea, message, or intellectual content of the drama. It answers the question: "What is this play about on a deeper level?" Examples of themes: Justice vs. revenge, the corrupting power of ambition, the nature of love, the search for identity. In Aristotle's terms, "Thought" refers to what the characters think and believe, which drives the audience to understand the play's universal meaning. Diction (The Language) This is the choice of words and the style of speaking used by the characters. It includes dialogue, monologue, and soliloquy. Elements of diction: - Verse vs. Prose: Does the character speak in poetic meter (like Shakespeare's iambic pentameter) or in everyday speech? - Word choice (Diction): Is the language formal, vulgar, poetic, or technical? This reveals character and tone. - Rhythm and Cadence: The flow of the language creates mood and emphasis. Music (The Sound / Rhythm) In Aristotle's time, this literally referred to the music played by the Greek chorus. Today, it encompasses all sound in a production. Elements of music: - Composed music: The score or songs. - Sound effects: Rain, gunshots, doorbells. - Rhythm of the dialogue: The pace and beat of the actors' speech. - Silence: The dramatic use of no sound at all. Spectacle (The Visual Elements) This is everything the audience sees. Aristotle considered this the least important element, as he believed a good play could be read and still be powerful without the visual show. However, in modern theatre, it is crucial. Elements of spectacle: - Scenery and Set Design: The physical environment. - Costumes and Makeup: What the characters wear. - Lighting: Mood, focus, and time of day. - Props: Objects used by the actors. - Stage Movement and Blocking: The physical arrangement and movement of actors on stage. Convention (The Unspoken Rules) This is often added to Aristotle's original six to account for the suspension of disbelief. Conventions are the agreed-upon rules of the theatrical world that the audience accepts without question. Examples of conventions: - The "Fourth Wall" : The imaginary wall between the actors and the audience (or the choice to break it). - Soliloquy: A character speaking their private thoughts aloud, unheard by other characters on stage (acting as if talking to the audience is normal). - Time Compression: Accepting that three hours on stage represents three years in the story. - Mime and Exaggeration: Accepting that pulling an imaginary rope is real. Quick Summary: Element Definition : : Plot The story structure (beginning, middle, end) Character The people in the story Thought The theme or central idea Diction The language and dialogue Music Sound, rhythm, and song Spectacle The visual design and special effects Convention The rules of the fictional world

Great raids, some bugs

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
