2 player free games on steam
Here are some great free 2-player games on Steam that you can play with a friend (both online and local co-op options included). I've broken them down by genre for easier browsing. Top Picks (Must-Try) We Were Here Series (First game is free) Cooperative puzzle-solving adventure where you and a partner communicate via walkie-talkie to escape a mysterious castle. Atmospheric and clever. Brawlhalla A popular platform fighter (like Super Smash Bros.) with a huge roster. Great for casual or competitive play. Duck Game (Has a free "Duck Game: The Ducks Awaken" version) Chaotic 2D arena shooter with hats, quacks, and pure madness. Hilarious local/online play. Teamfight Tactics Auto-battler from Riot Games. Strategize together in Double Up mode as a duo against other pairs. Action / Shooter Destiny 2 MMO-lite shooter with extensive co-op PvE activities (strikes, dungeons, raids) and PvP. Warframe Fast-paced sci-fi looter-shooter. Entire game can be played in co-op squads of up to 4. PlanetSide 2 Massive-scale MMOFPS where you fight as part of an army of hundreds. Squad up and dominate. Team Fortress 2 The classic class-based shooter. Still active with a variety of modes. Alien Swarm: Reactive Drop Top-down co-op shooter from Valve. Fight through hordes of aliens with deep loadout customization. Co-op / Puzzle The Past Within A unique co-op puzzle game where one player is in the 2D past and the other in the 3D future. You must communicate what you see. Operation: Tango Spy-themed co-op where one player is the "Agent" in the field and the other is the "Hacker" providing remote support. Requires good communication. Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes One player defuses a bomb, the other has the manual. A communication classic. (Local/Online with voice). Portal 2 Not free, but goes on sale for under 1. Its co-op campaign is one of the best ever made. Worth mentioning because it's a must-play and so cheap on sale. Competitive / Fighting Brawlhalla (mentioned above) The premier free fighter. Omega Strikers A 3v3 air hockey-meets-MOBA striker. Fast, fun, and strategic. Krosmaga A tactical card game with board control elements. Can play 1v1 or 2v2. Platformer / Arcade Fling to the Finish Teams of two are tethered together and must navigate obstacle courses. Silly and challenging physics. Sky: Children of the Light Beautiful, peaceful social adventure from the makers of Journey. Explore and solve mysteries together. Ember Knights (Demo) A free demo available for this co-op rogue-lite hack & slash. Very polished and fun. Variety / Other Tabletop Simulator (Not free, but a library staple) Lets you play thousands of board games, card games, and RPGs virtually. Endless 2-player potential. Golf With Your Friends (Not free, but often on sale) Crazy minigolf with fun modes. Great for casual play. Legends of Runeterra Riot's deep and generous digital card game. Has a fun 2v2 mode. Dota 2 The complex MOBA. Can be played as a duo in both casual and ranked modes. Tips for Finding More: On Steam, use the search filters: Free to Play + Co-op or Multiplayer + Tags (like "Co-op," "Local Co-op," "Online Co-op," "PvP"). Check the "Free to Play" section and sort by "User Reviews." Look for games with "Remote Play Together" support. This allows one person to own the game and stream it to a friend online, effectively making many local-only games playable online for free for the second player. Have fun gaming! Which genre are you and your friend most interested in? I can give more specific recommendations.

Venture into the depths of Azeroth itself in this groundbreaking expansion. Face new threats emerging from the planet's core, explore mysterious underground realms, and uncover secrets that will reshape your understanding of the Warcraft universe forever.
The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
