Fantasy MMORPG PvE Raids Guilds

Understanding the 01 Game The 01 game is a mathematical game typically played by two players who take turns removing objects (like coins, stones, or matches) from heaps or piles. The name "01" suggests binary outcomes (0 or 1), which hints at its connection to binary representations or parity-based strategies. ### Rules of the 01 Game While variations exist, a common version of the 01 game has the following rules: 1. Initial Setup: There is a single pile of ( n ) objects (e.g., ( n ) coins). 2. Players: Two players alternate turns. 3. Move Options: On a turn, a player must remove either 1 or 2 objects from the pile. 4. Winning Condition: The player who removes the last object wins (normal play). Alternatively, the player who cannot move loses (misère play). This is similar to the "subtraction game" or a simplified version of Nim. ### Winning Strategy The game can be analyzed using backward induction or dynamic programming to determine winning and losing positions. 1. Base Cases: - If ( n = 0 ), the current player cannot move and loses. - If ( n = 1 ), the current player takes 1 and wins. - If ( n = 2 ), the current player takes 2 and wins. 2. Recursive Analysis: - For ( n geq 3 ), the current player can leave the opponent in a losing position by ensuring the remaining objects are a multiple of 3. - Key Insight: If ( n ) is divisible by 3, the second player can win with optimal play. Otherwise, the first player can force a win. ### Optimal Play Example - If ( n = 4 ): - Player 1 takes 1 (leaving 3). - Player 2 takes 1 or 2, but Player 1 can then take the remaining objects to win. - If ( n = 3 ): - Player 1 takes 1 or 2, but Player 2 can respond by taking the rest to win. ### General Strategy - If ( n mod 3 eq 0 ), the first player can always force a win by removing ( n mod 3 ) objects, then mirroring the opponent's moves to keep the remaining count a multiple of 3. - If ( n mod 3 = 0 ), the second player can mirror the first player's moves to win. ### Variations 1. Different Move Options: If players can remove 1, 2, or 3 objects, the losing positions are multiples of 4. 2. Misère Version: The player to take the last object loses. The strategy adjusts accordingly. ### Mathematical Formulation The game is a finite impartial game, and its outcomes can be determined using the Sprague-Grundy theorem, assigning Grundy numbers to positions: - Grundy number for ( n ) is ( n mod (k+1) ), where ( k ) is the maximum number of objects that can be removed (e.g., ( k = 2 ) for the standard 01 game). ### Example with ( n = 5 ) 1. Player 1 takes 2 (since ( 5 mod 3 = 2 )), leaving 3. 2. Player 2 takes 1 or 2, but Player 1 can take the rest to win. ### Conclusion The 01 game is a simple yet strategic game where the player who can maintain control over multiples of 3 (or ( k+1 ) in general) will win. The first player has a winning strategy unless the initial count is a multiple of 3. Would you like to explore a specific variant or more complex heaps?

Great raids, some bugs

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
